It’s been years of essays, years of tutorial presentations, and years of people sitting right next to you in an empty lecture theatre. All that hard work has most likely fried your brain, and when you’re trying to come up with graduation party ideas all you’re getting is the image of a monkey riding a unicycle. Don’t worry, The Fox Hotel is here to help. With three different sections – Fish Lane Bistro, The Long Bar, and Dandy’s Rooftop – and plenty of function venues, it’s the perfect place to say goodbye to uni and hello to party season.

1. You’ll never have to feel guilty about skipping a lecture again (but still do it every week)

The only thing you have to feel guilty about now is skipping drinks at the Fox Hotel. The Long Bar will help you accept that those lectures are long gone and replace those half-hearted notes with a glass of rosé. Chuck out that colour coded timetable because the only colours you need to know are red and white. Toss the highlighters and toss back a beer instead.

2. Uni sign-on is just a distance nightmare

No longer will you have to wake up in cold sweats when sign on time is upon you. Now, the only thing you have to worry about is what kind of graduation shindig you want to have. Maybe a night filled with cocktails and tunes on Dandy’s Rooftop? Or an afternoon of beers and burgers at the Long Bar? Perhaps a nice meal and a whole lot of booze at Fish Lane Bistro?

3. Cocktails while others are kicking off summer semester

You’ve survived years of essays, speeches, lecturers with voices that could put you to sleep in seconds, and it’s time to treat yourself to a cocktail (or five) at Dandy’s Rooftop. Grab a glass filled with vodka, pavan, crème de peche, cranberry juice and strawberries with the Strawberry Fields Forever or juggle a jug of Lychee Dreams – a delicious mixture of vodka, soho liqueur, sweet apple and pineapple, and a dash of sour lemon.

4. Group assignments now only involve rounds of drinks

Group together your friends for a little or large goodbye – what’s a farewell party without a few rounds of beers? The Fox Hotel is one of the most versatile party venues in Brisbane with eight function areas holding anywhere from 16 to 200 people. Just make sure to leave the slackers that did no work off the guest list.

5. Swap eating out of library vending machine for actual food

No longer will you be surviving on half melted chocolate bars and overpriced packets of chips that are 90% air. Grab some friends and treat yo’ self to a burgerlicious bash at the Long Bar, a pizza party at Dandy’s Rooftop, or a fine food festivity at Fish Lane Bistro.
